SHAYLA & ETHAN | A SOFT AND ROMANTIC SUMMER WEDDING AT CHRONICLES EVENT CENTER

I have an absolute treat for you today. Shayla and Ethan's wedding has been so fun to edit. The soft, dreamy, romantic details matched with the classic colors and incredible smiles have made this feel more like a styled shoot than a wedding. Thanks in part to the most photogenic couple and bridal party ever, but also to the natural moments of complete happiness throughout this day.

I can't lie, though. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows all day. The forecast had us all holding our breath for a minute. Thankfully, the rain stopped in just enough time for the most perfect outdoor ceremony. The slightly overcast skies created the dreamiest lighting and softest colors. I was in photographer's heaven!

Shayla could've been married in a trash bag in the pouring rain and she still would've been breathtaking. In fact, that morning, I thought I had missed her getting her makeup done. I even asked the artist if she could sit back down in the chair so I could get some snaps. They all looked at me confused. Shayla said, "I haven't gotten my makeup done yet." This girl is literally so beautiful that I couldn't even tell the difference. Beautiful not only on the outside, but the incredible bunch of people who rallied behind this couple on their big day is a testament to the type of people they are on the inside.

The maid of honor, Miss Chasta, said it best when she said that Ethan and Shayla complement each other perfectly. Shayla is the life of the party. She's the master of organized chaos. She gives her full energy to every moment and she always makes it happen. Ethan is very much a go-with-the-flow-take-it-easy-yes-ma'am sorta guy. When they're together, they're in their safe space and it's really fun to watch (and even more fun to photograph!)

I can't even tell you how much I loved this day. Every quiet, sentimental, heartfelt moment was met with an equally as fun, giggly, and high energy memory. I may not have cried during dad's first look. I may not have cried during the ceremony. I may not have cried during toasts. But you better believe that when the mother of the groom blew a kiss to her new daughter-in-law while she danced with her little boy at the reception, I was not okay. It's those moments that really make up a wedding day and Shayla and Ethan's was full of them!

I'm so thrilled to share these beautiful images with you. It was a job and a half narrowing these down to one sneak peek post, but despite the impossible task, I present to you: Mr. and Mrs. Shirley!
