MICAH & LEXI | A PEACEFUL AND JOYOUS WEDDING CELEBRATION AT THE REFINERY NORTH

I’m always partial to an October wedding. As someone who is celebrating their anniversary this week, this month always gives me the warm fuzzies. When Lexi and Micah asked me to photograph their October wedding at the Refinery North, it was perhaps the most sentimental “YES!” I’ve ever given. Their venue is where my husband and I went on our first date in 2011 and where he proposed four years later. So, to say I was excited for this one may be a smidge of an understatement.

Even though I was excited to revisit the memories of my own love story, I was even more excited to witness the beginning of a beautiful marriage. Micah and Lexi are a very special couple. I have known Lexi for years. She worked at my son’s preschool, and my entire family loves her. Micah came around a few years later. After my husband and I started getting to know him, he shared his testimony with us. His humility and gratitude shine through in every conversation.

Micah and Lexi are two of the most even-tempered people I’ve ever met. They are steady and calm and absolutely perfect for each other. After photographing their engagement session and wedding, I can also say that these two are funny. When they are together, they bring out the wit and silliness in each other. I adored this and took full advantage of it throughout the day. Although I must say, for two extremely undramatic people, they are also very good at striking dramatic poses!

I guess what I’m trying to say is that this was just an all-around masterpiece of a wedding. I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but the best weddings are the ones that feel like a celebration instead of a production. Everyone came to celebrate this young couple and offer their love, help, and support with such genuine joy.

I could not be happier for the two of you, and I could not love these images more because I can feel the love in them. Thank you all SO MUCH for a fantastic day, and God bless!
