SARA & UTKARSH | AN INDIAN-AMERICAN WEDDING AT CACTUS CREEK BARN

I'm so excited to show off my first ever double wedding! And, no, it's not what you're thinking. Instead of two couples and one wedding, Sara and Utkarsh celebrated their new union with friends and family from all around the globe in two very special ways. First, we got to experience the traditions and customs (and food!) of an Indian wedding ceremony. Then, we saw Sara and Utkarsh say their vows in a traditional western ceremony. Two celebrations, two looks, two sets of every picture. Talk about a full day of incredible photography opportunities!

I absolutely loved getting to experience this new style of wedding. The bright colors, the super up-beat traditions, the meaningful moments... The Thakur family was wonderful at explaining the importance of each element and Sara was like a sponge: absorbing and fully experiencing every aspect. Utkarsh's sweet sister, Aditi, said it best when she said that Sara was, "the most beautiful Indian bride I've ever seen."

Not only did Sara get to experience being the most beautiful bride, she got to experience it twice! Sara traded her bangles for a bouquet and she met Utkarsh at the aisle (again!). Tears were shed (again!) and then it was off to celebrate for the rest of the evening!

The venue was lovely and I so wish we could've explored more of it, BUT I will tell you what everyone told me (over and over and over again) after it poured on my wedding day: it's good luck! And 10 years later, I've finally come around to the notion. Rain or no rain, we finished the day with a plethora of incredible shots. I’m absolutely honored to share these images from such an amazing day. The hardest part of the entire process is narrowing down which ones to share.

Thank you, Sara and Utkarsh, for being such wonderful wedding hosts and for trusting me with your day!

Ladies and gentlemen, the new Mr. and Mrs. Thakur!
