If you were to Google "southern Indiana weather on October 24, 2015" it should tell you that it rained all. day. long. I remember it so well because that was the day that all of the men in my family had to bring in our custom cornhole boards, outdoor activities, and tables from what we imagined would be our outdoor wedding reception. We took our first portraits as Mr. and Mrs. in the rain, my hair was ruined, and my dress was a muddy disaster. But I got to start the rest of my life with my best friend and it is still without a doubt the best day of my life.
All of that being said, when I pulled up to The Farm on Old State Road and started to photograph the incredible spread of yard games and activities outside, then I looked at the radar, my heart ached for Katie and Hunter. Considering the 90-100% chance of rain the rest of the evening, I thought for sure we would relive my wedding day and I really didn't want that for them. Even if there had been a hurricane here in the midwest, I know Katie and Hunter would have still been the two happiest people on the planet that day. Whenever they're together, I can see every stress and worry just disappear. They're each other's escape and now they can live that dream every single day for the rest of their lives.
After checking the radar approximately every 7 minutes, I was blown away by the outcome of the day. It could only have been prayers. The practically guaranteed rainy day hit us ONLY for the ceremony, that was all indoors anyway, and that short burst of rain cooled down the rest of the evening so that guests could enjoy the amazing scenery and activities of their venue in what became the perfect evening. I am absolutely over the moon with how their special day turned out and all of the incredible images that were captured.
This place is a rustic-lover's wildest dream. Let's play a game: try and see how many cows you can count in the background of these images. I've never had so many amazing photo bombers in my 5 years of shooting. The livestock in the background only highlighted each and every incredible detail from the day. I can't get over how seamlessly it all came together. Hunter and Katie's family and friends all rallied behind them to create one wedding nobody will soon forget. From the GORGEOUS gown, complete with veil and boots, to the pastel florals, and each and every rustic touch in-between, I don't know if a million images from this day could've given it justice.
Even more simple and beautiful than their day's details is the love between the new husband and wife. They're high school sweethearts with old souls and stars in their eyes for each other. They way they make each other laugh, the life and family they have started, the vows they gave to each other...I can't wait to see what the future holds for Mr. and Mrs. Williams.
