COURTNEY & KAILEB | A RUSTIC, ROMANTIC WEDDING AT EAST RIDGE ESTATE

I mean this in sincerity when I say that wedding days are like babies to me: I could never choose a favorite. I honestly have the time of my life shooting these incredibly special days and it truly never gets old.


There are certain wedding days, though, that sometimes feel less like I’m stepping into a celebration and more like a story. I kid you not, looking through Courtney and Kaileb’s wedding photos made me feel like I was in a modern day Pride and Prejudice adaptation. The incredible rolling hills of the countryside paired with the stately backdrops of East Ridge all merged with the soft, romantic details made me feel like I was in a novel all day. And then it hit me.


Their last name is Bennett. If you don’t know much about Pride and Prejudice, this may not be revelatory to you, but you’re just going to have to trust me that it’s perfect.


And it was. Courtney and Kaileb are two of the most gentle people I know. Courtney’s beauty radiates from the inside out. She’s warm and soft-spoken and down to earth. Much of Courtney’s wedding day preparations took place in the beautiful old farmhouse at the estate and I could not get over how peaceful it all was. I even mentioned it to several people there. Wedding preparations can be stressful, even down to the last minute, but the atmosphere before the Bennett wedding was like spending the weekend at your great grandma’s house. So inviting, so nostalgic, and so serene. The perfect stage for this perfect day.


Along the same lines, Kaileb spent his preparations outside. Fishing. Literally on the beautiful lakeside of the property. Their day unfolded so slowly and tenderly and I couldn’t help but feel like I was in a different era. Back in the good old days when no body was in a hurry and the world just kind of stood still.


The ceremony itself carried the same gentle reverence as the bride and groom said their vows beneath a simple wooden cross draped in soft fabric that drifted in the wind. The countryside behind them looked like a painting. Don’t even get me started on the dress. I could not have been happier.


This type of atmosphere can only be created by two people who are truly comfortable with one another. Courtney and Kaileb are each other’s safe haven and their wedding day was a true fairytale. Generation after generation showed up to give their love and support. Even the rain held off just long enough for us to squeeze in every perfect picture. I was transported to another time and place when I looked through these images for the first time. Prepare yourself.
