The Lavey Wedding is officially in the books and I cannot wait to show off this incredible couple, but before I do, I just have to first take a second to recognize the people that surrounded Josh and Lauren on their big day.
This bridal party is the standard. I saw these ladies sort through layers and layers of dress to capture bugs. They repositioned the veil countless times. They made sure Lauren was fed and hydrated. They held up their phones to capture special moments, jumped in to help at every opportunity, and they even flew in from London to be by her side! I saw the MOH jumpscare a stray dog moments before it reached the bride. These girls earned their title.
The groomsmen moved furniture at my every whim. They carried things to my car, they killed a spider in the bridal suite. When I arrived at the church for the ceremony, they were in the back playing instruments and singing “I’ll Fly Away.” You have never seen such professional ushers. I’m not even joking, they were giving guests secrets and tips about where to sit.
The mother of the bride was checking boxes and doing paperwork at her seat two minutes before the ceremony. The father of the groom was on his hands and knees scrubbing pollen off benches. I don’t think there was one single family member, bridesmaid, groomsmen, usher, or friend who wasn’t sore the next day. This massive celebration was a labor of love if I’ve ever seen one. I kid you not: this sneak peek could’ve been 1,000 images of heartfelt, tearful, and joyous moments.
Why am I spending so much precious blog space telling you all of this? Because I truly believe that the love, dedication, and pure joy that everyone poured out onto this young couple could only reflect on the people they are. These folks weren’t forced to do any of this. Josh and Lauren are just the kind of people that other people want to celebrate.
When Josh and Lauren interlocked fingers on the morning of their wedding day and bowed their heads to pray, Josh asked the Lord to give them a perfect day “for Lauren.”
And that was the first time I cried that day. I kinda lost count after about 32…
These two are the most humble, gentle, and Godly people that could ever be joined together. I had the time of my life on their big day. They could’ve gotten married in a potato sack dress and a trash bag suit in front of a dumpster and I still would’ve cried. But the fact that they had the most beautiful wedding day made it that much better. Josh’s prayer was answered. Everything from the weather to the setting, to the florals, to the way the breeze swept Lauren’s hair; every shot was perfection and I cannot say it enough!
Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Lavey! Enjoy a small peek into your perfect day.
