If you didn't know this about me, I'm a nerd. Or at least I used to be. I don't have time to be very smart these days, but back in high school and college, I was kind of academically competitive. I have absolutely no athleticism in me, so I had to be competitive elsewhere. Funny enough, that meant that the people I hung out with were nerds too. The people who pushed me to do even better in school. The ones that studied with me, stayed late in the yearbook lab, did all of the extra credit...
Among those friends was Miss Emily. Always at the top of the class, always on time, always perfect handwriting (I'm personally jealous of that one). So when she contacted me about her wedding, I knew it was going to be a stunner. During the reception, John and Emily were playing the newlywed game, and the question was who was the most organized. The crowd responded with a resounding, "Emilyyyyyy!"
I told the DJ, "She literally won 'Most Organized' in high school!" A trait that came in so, so handy on September 16, 2023. Emily had every duck in a row- every "i" dotted and every "t" crossed. Her attention to detail had me absolutely swooning. The bridal suite was the cleanest one I'd ever seen. Everything was thought out, everything had significance, everything went according to plan. In other words, my idea of a perfect wedding.
But bouquets, fancy perfumes, and custom Converse aren't everything. The perfect wedding is really only as perfect as the love between the bride and groom. After being introduced to John, I was shocked to meet the male version of Emily. They're both so meek, gentle, and calm. They're both absolutely in love. They both made this day beyond perfect.
It was so amazing to watch these two fall even more in love on their wedding day. The love didn't stop at the new Mr. and Mrs. Walker. All day long, the friends and family of John and Emily surrounded them with support and warmth. The weather was amazing, the venue was ideal, and the entire day will go down in my books as a definite favorite.
