SADIE'S SWEET SIXTEEN SESSION

This is an odd one to sit down and type out. Normally, I comment on how sweet the family was that I just met or how I've loved getting to photograph someone over the stages of their life, but this one is just a little bit different. Sadie is now the second of my baby siblings to turn 16 and so far, it doesn't get any more real.

I got my very first camera in February 2017, and Sadie was my first ever shoot. In our back yard. In auto. Unedited.

While I'd love to think that my shooting and editing skills have vastly improved since then, I can assure you that Sadie's level of sass has remained the same. When I was in high school, I used to keep a note on my phone of all of the funny stuff she would say. One of my favorites being that hot chocolate "is like a blanket for my voice box".

Having siblings so far apart in age is kind of cool for that reason, though. She was my baby before I had babies. I got to help her grow up. And now that she's grown-up herself, we get to bond over all of the same things (like Christmas and movies and shopping and hot chocolate and now photography!) in all new ways.

I'd better shift gears before I get too sappy.

To celebrate Sadie turning 16, her and my adopted sister, Monse, caught the most golden of golden hours at Mount Saint Francis. I even took the opportunity to get a little bit "artsy" (just an old gal trying to stay relevant) and I really love the results! But I may be biased because I also just really love the subjects.
