I consider our biennial family portraits to be kind of like my continuing education as a photographer. I am reminded what it’s like to be a client and get everyone dressed and ready for a session. Up until this year, my entire family has always been within the same county. Even then, it was difficult to get on everyone’s schedules. Now we have two new additions, one all the way from Norway, and I really wanted an updated portrait while she was here. We all found one singular 30-minute block where all of our calendars aligned and that’s when the magic happened.


Although the victims of my constant bossing around may disagree, I think it was worth it! I sure do have some good looking relatives. Nutcases, but good looking ones at least. When we all get together two things are always in abundance: cuteness and chaos.
