Remember back to your senior year of high school. There are so many memories and decisions to make. Now think about what you thought your life would be when you were 18. Maybe you thought you would go to school to become what you'd always dreamed of. Maybe you had a boyfriend or girlfriend and you thought that was who you'd spend your forever with. Maybe you saw yourself in a nice little town, close to home. Maybe you saw children on the way in about five years or so.
Now think about what your life actually became.
If you're anything like me, your life turned out exactly the way you thought it would.
If not, you may be a little more like Megan.
If you were to travel back in time to December of Megan's senior year and say, "Hey, would you ever imagine that in five years you'll be married to Devin, living in Virginia with a four-year-old and a one-year-old?" she would probably have laughed at you.
And even though her life may not have turned out the way she thought it would, she will be the first one to tell you that she's so happy God had other plans.
After senior year's homecoming ceremony, these two began their journey together and have never looked back. Devin enlisted in the Coast Guard and Megan followed him as his new wife. Their story has seen chapters in Texas, California, and Virginia where they currently live with their two perfect little boys, Beckett Cole and Owen Malachi.
These two beautiful people are very special to me. I'm so proud of the home and family they've built together. This year, Megan and Devin will celebrate half a decade of wedded bliss! Don't let that fool you, though, they still giggle like newlyweds.
In fact, there was one point in our session when they couldn't stop giggling.
Even though Devin is a determined and serious military man, nobody can make him laugh quite like Megan. And even though Megan is a hopeless romantic, she found her Prince Charming in Devin.
Their relationship is even more beautiful than they are in these images (if you can believe that).
